Get the Hex Code for Any Color in a Photo — One Tap

Need the hex code from a color you see in a photo? Tap it in Color Identifier App and the hex code copies to your clipboard. Get RGB, HSL, and CMYK too — all from a single tap on any image.

One-tap hex code extraction

Import any photo or take one with your camera. Tap the color you want the hex code for. The hex code (e.g., #4A7C8B) appears instantly in the color detail panel — tap the hex value to copy it to your clipboard in one more tap.

The copied hex code is immediately ready to paste into Figma, CSS, a color picker, an email, or any other application that accepts hex color codes.

Hex code plus all other color formats

The same tap that gives you the hex code also returns: RGB (Red, Green, Blue) values from 0–255, HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) values, HSB/HSV (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) values, and CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) percentages. Each format has its own copy button for one-tap clipboard copying.

Having all formats in one place eliminates the need to convert between them manually — a practical time saver for designers working across web (hex/RGB), print (CMYK), and design tools (HSL).

Why hex codes from photos need interpretation

A hex code extracted from a photo is a measurement of the light recorded by the camera sensor in sRGB color space — which is not identical to the surface's "true" color. Lighting conditions, the camera's white balance, JPEG compression, and screen calibration all introduce variation.

For accurate color reproduction from a photo, take the extracted hex code as a starting point and refine it using the paint brand match or Pantone reference alongside a physical color chip check in your actual environment.

Build a hex palette from any image

Tap multiple colors in the same photo to collect a set of hex codes that form a palette. The app groups your taps into a named palette that you can export as a swatch file or share as a formatted list of hex codes.

This palette extraction workflow is popular with brand designers, social media managers, and interior designers who want to pull a coordinated color system from a single inspiration image.
